Cloud HRMS in Pakistan: what changes when HR leaves the server

A lot of HR teams in Pakistan still mean “the HR computer” when they say the system. Attendance is downloaded from a biometric machine onto a USB stick. Leave sits in WhatsApp. Payroll is a workbook that only one person knows how to open. That arrangement works until that person is on leave, or the office in the second city cannot see the file.

It is the server, the backup, the person who restarts it, and the branch that cannot log in when the head office power is out.

A cloud system trades that for a vendor who hosts the software and a connection you already use for email. Do not start with every module a vendor lists. A Pakistani company usually needs four things live before the rest matters.

A trial that proves the cloud part

Ask to load one real branch, not a sample company. Connect one device or a CSV of punches. Run one month beside the spreadsheet. If net pay matches and a manager outside the office can approve a leave request, the cloud part has done its job. If the vendor still needs a technician to sit in your server room, you are evaluating a different product.
